Alyssa Gauthier was a gymnast until 2013, when she quit in search of another sport to keep herself active. After attending a diving camp soon after, Alyssa joined the sport and has loved it ever since. Looking back, Alyssa feels her favourite event was her first national level three metre event, where her result meant she received her first Junior National qualification.
After only two years of diving, Alyssa attended her first Junior Nationals, placing fifth in her age group in the three metre event. Currently, Alyssa continues to persevere, working hard to get better every day. Since beginning diving, she has not only loved the sport itself but the community around it. For her, diving is a way to have fun, stay active, meet new friends and to continually challenge herself.
On her bucket list: Skydiving!
