Sports: Athletics – Track and Field, Cross Country Running
Jeremiah (Jay) Ort is a runner from Carman, MB. While training to improve his running performance in triathlon, Jay discovered his aptitude for competitive running. He attributes much of his early motivation and technical progress to his high school coach, Lyle Myers. Not long after setting provincial high school track records at several of his meets, Jay made his debut on the international stage. He has represented Canada at the 2014 Youth Olympic Summer Games in Nanjing, China, and is now a member of the Canadian Cross Country Team.
Currently, Jay is a student at the University of Tulsa, where he continues to train hard, strive for personal bests and search for new challenges in order to continue pushing himself. He feels his recent experience with international competition is helping him to stay motivated, and he is eager to take on the challenges that await.
