Mackenzie Glover
Sports: Swimming
What started out as swimming lessons for Mackenzie Glover turned into a competitive sport.
I love the feeling of swimming a great race and getting out of the water knowing I couldn’t have gone any faster.
Mackenzie is now competing at the Senior National/Junior National Level, racing against some of the best competition in her league. Her most memorable moment includes competing at the FINA World Cup in Dubai and Doha, in November of 2015. Her favourite event is the 200 backstroke, a very challenging yet rewarding race.
Mackenzie’s exposure to sport has included more than just swimming – at a young age she played soccer as well as taking ballet classes at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Though she no longer practices either, she continues to admire the work and dedication of those in the dance world. Mackenzie also looks up to Canadian competitive swimmer Chantal Van Landeghem, an athlete Mackenzie has followed since she was 10 years old.
