Sports: Volleyball

Tabitha Love starting playing volleyball at 12 years old. Both of her parents had grown up playing, and shared their love of the sport with Tabi and her family. Tabi became more competitive and excelled at volleyball through high school, along with several other sports. As a high school senior, Tabi had already been selected to play for the Junior National Team for two consecutive years, and upon graduation in 2009, left the town of Dauphin to pursue a degree and a higher level of play at the University of Minnesota.

Tabi continued to dominate the court at the U of M, and was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team in 2009. After two years with the Gophers, Tabi needed a change, and transferred to UCLA. There she was part of the Bruins’ 2011 NCAA title run, and in 2012 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.

Tabi’s most memorable moment was in 2013 when her Women’s National Team played a game against Peru at Tabi’s old high school in Dauphin. So far, her favourite event was competing in front of a passionate home crowd at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. Outside the world of volleyball, Tabi wishes to further her post-secondary education.

Tabi in three words: Driven, hardworking, ambitious
