Gabriela (Gaby) Estrada is from Scarborough (Toronto), ON and the proud daughter of immigrant parents from Guatemala. Gaby is incredibly passionate – a strong advocate for girls and women in sport, physical activity and recreation. She strongly believes in taking an intersectional approach to programs and policies impacting girls’ and women’s participation, ensuring proper representation of marginalized communities.
Gaby has over ten years of experience in the sports sector, having worked with non-profit organizations, grassroots, post-secondary institutions and social enterprises focused on physical activity. Gaby is currently the Program Manager for Fast and Female, overseeing all development and delivery of programs and events across Canada, alongside Fast and Female’s research and evaluation arm, and all anti-racism and inclusion initiatives. Gaby is currently pursuing her MSc. at the University of Toronto under the Department of Kinesiology. Her research focuses on racialized women’s experiences in movement in Scarborough.
