Jorie Janzen is no ordinary dietitian. Her high energy, dedication, motivation and humour have allowed her to work with a variety of high performance athletes, coaching them to go beyond survival mode to create a life and a business of success and significance. Jorie received her undergrad degree at the University of Manitoba and furthered her education by attending as well as presenting at the Dietitians of Canada & Sports Dietitians of Australia 4-Day Intensive Courses and continued her education by completing the prestigious 2-year International Olympic Committee Diploma in Sport Nutrition. She previously became a Board-Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
Jorie is always looking for ways to enhance her skill set and those she mentors by taking on opportunities to share with others including completing Cornell University’s Women in Leadership Certificate, the LEAD program driven by Own the Podium (OTP) through the Canadian Olympic Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN) and Learning in Action’s We-Q (Emotional Intelligence) Practitioner Certificate.
Over the past 20 years she has gained extensive experience working with provincial, national, Olympic/Paralympic level athletes, the NHL, CFL, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Golf Canada, the Faculty of Family Medicine, and Legacy and Pan Am Sport Medicine Fellowships. She’s the past president of the
Sport Medicine and Science Council Manitoba Board, past co-chair of Dietitians of Canada Sport Nutrition Network, past provincial executive representative, and is the founder and outgoing chair of the Manitoba Sport Nutrition Network Inc. Jorie has been an instructor at both the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba and is currently teaching online with Niagara College.
Jorie has been working with the Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba since 2009, where she enjoys taking on leadership, mentorship, and integrated support team roles within the Canadian Olympic Paralympic Sport Institute Network.
