COPSI Network Locations
In order to provide a world-class, multi-sport daily training environment for athletes and coaches through expert leadership, services and programs, the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network has created venues across Canada. This larger network is called the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSI Network). These venues include locations in Atlantic Canada, Montreal, Québec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Calgary and the Pacific (Vancouver, Victoria and Whistler).
In 1994, the first ever Canadian Sport Institute was established in Calgary, as there were a number of sport facilities put into place when the city played host to the 1988 Olympic Winter Games. The 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria yielded the same result, as did the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. With a wealth of sport facilities popping up all across the country, this network of institutes continued to grow.
Today, the Network of Centres and Institutes provides centralized, coordinated delivery of personal and professional services to world-class Olympic and Paralympic athletes and coaches. Experts in sport science, sport psychology, strength training, nutrition counselling, dietetics and sport medicine are accessible to the athletes, nurturing their development. These teams are committed to the athletes’ successes, cheering them on both on and off the field.
