Be a Leader to Yourself
Dr. Adrienne Leslie-Toogood, Director of Sport Psychology
We talk a lot about being a leader and the importance of doing that for other people. Imagine if we thought of that as it relates to ourselves. What would it mean if you started to be a leader for you? What do you need to reach your potential? Often, as a leader, we are kind to those we serve. Maybe being a leader to yourself means being kind and patient. Kristin Neff talks to us about the importance of self-compassion. Treat ourselves as we would treat other people, be mindful of what we need right now to get better, remember that other people struggle and realize that having room to get better means that we have not yet realized our potential. Become an expert on what you need and be the leader you need to be your best.
