Living with Courage

Dr. Adrienne Leslie-Toogood, Director of Sport Psychology

Being an athlete requires us to go all in.  Tyler Mislawchuk is a triathlete.  In an endurance sport like his, success requires giving 100% every training session, in addition to every race.  There is a lot you cannot predict in his sport.  Things happen quickly and seconds can take away all of your hopes for any given day.  If you look at Tyler’s face in this picture, it says a lot.  Look at the pure joy that comes from total investment.  The satisfaction he is feeling can only come by investing all you have into what you do.  It is indeed what you learn and who you become in that process that is the most important.  At the end of the day, whatever happens in a race, it does not matter.  Because every experience you have is an investment in who you are meant to become.  Be willing to have the courage to invest all you have into what you do.  Live without regrets.
